  • Plans to redevelop Charsfield Three Horseshoes refused Saturday 27 April 2024

    East Suffolk Council has refused permission for the Three Horseshoes to be redeveloped to create three cottages. The pub is a designated Asset of Community Value (ACV) and this played a major part in the decision.

  • Buxhall Crown to be converted into an Italian restaurant Tuesday 16 April 2024

    This pub, which never reopened after the Covid lockdown, is to be converted into an Italian restaurant.

  • Framsden Dobermann community buy-out succeeds Friday 12 April 2024

    Framsden villagers have not only succeeded in their eight year fight to prevent the village's only pub being converted into a home, but have also raised enough funds (with help from a £276k grant from the government's Community Ownership Fund) to buy the pub. The building has deteriorated badly since closure, so will take some time to restore, but they hope to have it open by xmas, when it will revert to its historical name, the Greyhound.

  • Ipswich Kingfisher closes Thursday 11 April 2024

    Licensees of this pub on the Chantry estate have announced that they're leaving and the pub has closed. We understand the Stonegate PubCo is looking for new people to run it.

    Adnams have succeeded in finding new people to run these two pubs at short notice and both have now reopened.

    Renovation work on this pub has been completed and it has reopened.

  • Hasketon Turk's Head closes Tuesday 19 March 2024

    Management announced the pub's closure today. No information is available as to its long-term future. It seems that the Red Cat pub chain (run by former Greene King boss Rooney Anand) is in financial trouble.

  • Eastbridge and Middleton pubs close Monday 18 March 2024

    The EADT reports that the Eastbridge Eel's Foot and Middleton Bell have closed.

  • Woodbridge Duke of York closes Wednesday 28 February 2024

    Originally the Seal, which opened in 1998, this pub closed at the end of February and is to be converted into a Mediterranean restaurant.
